The iPod

The most feature-packed and highest-capacity branch is simply called the iPod. The newest release from Apple is the 80GB (gigabyte) iPod with video capabilities.

It is available in two colours; white and black. With an audio/video cable, it can be connected to a television for viewing movies, television shows, and other videos. Or, videos can be watched on the 63.5 millimetre screen.

Battery life is advertised as "up to 20 hours" by Apple. This model is £259.00. The next model down is nearly identical, but with a capacity of 30GB and about six fewer hours of advertised battery life.

They are both 103.5mm tall and 61.8mm wide, but the 80GB model is slightly thicker at 14mm compared to the 11mm of the 30GB version, which retails for £189.00.

There is also a "U2" version of the iPod, named after the band from Ireland. It is black with a red wheel, and is otherwise identical to the 30GB model except for the £209.00 price tag.

All versions of the video-enabled iPod are also capable of playing games, although only a handful are available, and only for purchase from Apple.
